As Facebook became more popular, it became a target for hackers. The Facebook team is generally good at keeping viruses out, but occasionally some malware links do come through. These often pop up on your news feed telling you your friends "LIKE" that item and you need to click through or like the item in order to view it. Be very careful with these links.

In general, it is a good rule of thumb for internet browsing to only open files and click links that you are sure you can trust and were meant for you.

Any virus from any website is basically an STD or AIDS for a personal computer.
If you dont want any virus 100% guaranteed. Never log on to the internet ever for any reason.
A personal computer is a computer that never goes online.
Use a junker computer for the internet and hackers will only get junk files ect.
The more "contacts" and mouse clicks a person makes the greater the risk of getting something.

If your looking to permanently remove spyware and viruses and keep them off wihtout having to worry about it then I suggest you purchase some good antivirus software. The free tools you can find online (Spybot and AVG being the most popular ones out there) just don't do that good of a job and are really not worth the risk. Stick a good program such as ESET Nod32 or Antivirus and Security which is really good as well.
