Apple TV 2nd Gen compared to 3rd Gen?

I am in the process of buying an Apple TV i think i want it for the Airplay feature mostly.

Does airplay have any changes in the 3rd Gen?

And is there any reason why it would be better to stream movies over the apple tv iTunes thing compared to airplay?
