How do people that never joined Facebook, twitter connect to people?

A lot of people prefer to connect to others around the world with more anonymity. People who want to connect with people but don't join social networking sites like Facebook and twitter tend to use blogging and forums instead. Possibly the most common and most popular of these types of websites is tumblr. If a person says they don't like social networking sites, it's usually because there tends to be a higher chance of personal offense, drama, and even cyber-bullying (because of the lack of anonymity).

I never joined and I never want to. I don't want a public page and I would rather go out and socialize than stay on the computer all day.

People stay in touch by calling someone on the phone and actually "talking" instead of texting. There's also this really cool invention called being social where people go up to other people and talk, instead of being attached to using so many damn electronics.
Honestly ever since facebook and crap came around, the world has changed, people are just so use to messaging or texting people, instead of just talking to them in person. Everyone is starting to lose they're self confidence to make conversation to people....... now I'm not saying everyone..... but alot of people.

I study Computer Science and Communications Engineering, I don't have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram either, but I've no problem with keeping in touch with me close friends. Just because someone doesn't have a fb/twit/instag-account, doesn't mean he/she's an asshole. You should update your attitude. You might be crazy about those sites, that's ok. But if someone's not crazy like you for those site and you can't accept it, that's not ok. It's up to the person, if he/she want's to open such accounts or not.
