Chances of making a successful band?

I really love music. I am a freshman in highschool. I am going to a highschool that has a music program (guitar/drums/piano/other stuff) and would like to create a band (heavy metal with some screaming). I know that practically NO bands get noticed, however I am an actor signed with a successful agent. I was wondering about if my agent had any ties with the music industry (they overlap a little, don't they) and was wondering if that increased the chances of getting noticed. I get a lot of money from acting, so I don't care about money, I just want to create music and have it get noticed. What do you guys think?
