I have seen users here, who have an animated avatar here on Yahoo Answers....they look pretty cool. I know its done by connecting your Yahoo account to twitter...
But I was wondering...is it against the Y!A rules to have a moving animated image as your avatar?
Would I get into any trouble for using such a image as my Y!A avatar?

You will no longer be able to do so. That loophole was closed by staff a while ago. Some of the older avatars still remain, but supposedly, even they are being terminated bit by bit. Many users have complained that the moving images trigger migraines and other issues.
