I cannot run Left 4 Dead 2 on my mac! But it's there!?

Okay, so I recently downloaded Left 4 Dead 2 on my Mac OSX .
The tutorial was fantastic, it worked perfectly although the errors he said would happen - did ;
The only thing the tutorial didn't explain is how to re-open it.
I open it once, and then quit like he said.
But then when I try and open it again it won't.
If I close the finder it will for about 1 second without me even getting to click it.
I want to play this, it's sitting on my mac desktop.
The icon is there. I downloaded the CZX or whatever.
Can someone help? How do I open this torrent?
