How do you get ThinkPoint virus?
I got the ThinkPoint virus and I also removed it that same night I got it. I taught ThinkPoint to F*ck off. I was just wondering how did I get the virus. I'm just curious.

It's usually either manually installed if you fall for a fake ad on a commercial website, or if you're on Google Images looking at pics with safe search off. Don't forget, Safe Search doesn't just filter explicit content, it filters infected images as well. Simply clicking a link or visiting a malicious site can implant a virus on your computer depending on how skilled the virus writers are. What's worse is you don't even know it's happening.

Boot the computer into Safe Mode with Networking. (When you boot up, after the manufacturers splash screen, tap F8 a few times until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears. With your arrow keys and the enter key, select Safe Mode with Networking.)

The desktop background will be black. This is normal.

Open your browser, and go to http://www.pcthreat.com/parasitebyid-13022en.html and download the free scanner. After installing it, do a quick scan and remove anything found.

Reboot normally.

That should solve the problem.

It could be a Drive-by download or infected/compromised website.
