Giving an assignment in 'Marketing on Social Medias'?

I'm teaching a class in IT as a substitute teacher, and I'm doing a lesson on how social networks can be used in marketing. I really want to set them a small assignment in the subject, but I can't think of a good one. Any ideas?

Give an assignment on:

List the top ten social media networks, define what are they good for, what are there pro's and cons, how many members does each social network have, as well as stating what resources they used!

Dont be suprised though if the majority of the class has facebook, U tube and twitter in there top three of the top ten.

But come to think of it 2 of these are in the top 2 positions of the top 15 from the following website, which is up to date and good resource for you to go off!
