Go with the leap pad learning tablet! To be honest its the best thing for kids and most other knock offs don't last long my sons been thru a few over the years and they were a waste of money besides that brand or products

Meep.
You want your child to experience the latest in technology--but how do you keep an eye on the content they're viewing? With the Meep! tablet. The Meep! is full of amazing features--built-in Wi-Fi for Web browsing and communication, a music player, an eBook reader, chat capabilities, and a front camera--but it's also equipped with parental controls that allow you to monitor your child's Internet access and viewing, and even approve friend requests through its own communicator social network! How's that for peace of mind?

The Meep! runs on the Android 4.0 operating system, which allows access to hundreds of apps for purchase and download. And the 7" diagonal color Z-force touchscreen is bright, brilliant, and easy for young fingers to navigate. With the Meep!, your child can experience the fun and convenience of a tablet while you control the content--the best of both worlds! From Oregon Scientific.

Wireless capability may require a network connection, additional accessories, and/or a service connection fee.

Access to and use of the Internet may require payment of a separate fee to an Internet Service Provider.

I bought the Meep! for my daughter, opened it up Christmas Day, couldn't connect to their servers to change any of the parental controls so apart from the angry birds game (and a few others pre-installed) she was pretty disinterested, i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, after 4-5 days they had fixed most of their server problems and I continued to install apps from google play and bought a memory card so I could put some music and videos on there for her! Still not 100% working it was a lot more usable for her so I finally handed it over and let her play, within a few hours the power button broke and will no longer turn on at all! And I'm not the only one this has happened to (as detailed on their Facebook page).

Whilst it was working here were a few of the other bad points I noted:

Although the parent suggested website list was a good idea, the lack of flash renders most kids sites useless (I know this will change as more sites switch to HTML 5) flash can be installed but the instructions are written by another user posted on the Meep! Facebook page (not Meep!'s website) and its quite a tiresome process

The user interface is not the most intuitive; my daughter is used to stealing mine and the wife's iPhone's or grandparents iPads so the scroll wheel icons on the left is a lot let user friendly than a screen full of icons

Anyway this is only my own experience and I do feel a little disappointed with the gadget as I thought it would be the answer to my always missing iPhone!

I'm now at an impasse myself as what to replace it with because the Nabi 2 which was my other (more expensive) choice has apparently had many similar issues

All these points can be seen on both the Meep! And the Nabi Facebook page:

Hope this helps and if anyone has had a good tablet experience I'd welcome some advice
