When in reality the US has always used the tax code to redistribute wealth. And there's nothing wrong with that. I worked for the federal government for 4 years, and the reason why I had my car, place to live, amenities, health care, schooling, and money in my pocket was through wealth redistribution.

Nobody but a socialist or trade unionist would use a weasel word such as "fairly." What does that word mean? Well, each of us has only one brain, one pair of eyes through which to view the world, and a unique sense of our own morality and deservedness. I am such a person myself. From my perspective I am the center of the Universe, and fairness would dictate that I be richly rewarded for being the uniquely wonderful me.
