Upgrading OS X on a 2nd hand Powerbook G4?
I've got a 2nd hand Powerbook G4 Titanium. It's a nice little computer, but it has no Airport card, and it doesn't detect wifi cards recommended on Mac sites and that also run fine on my Toshiba windows laptop. Currently, the installed OS X is 10.3.9 - this was not a fresh install. I cannot update or install much software because I'm always being asked the user password, which belongs to its past owner. I don't have the OS CD for the computer. Considering what I paid for it, I'm pretty happy with the machine. However I would like to improve it. Would reinstalling 10.3.9 likely fix my wifi problems? Would it be a better idea to get Tiger instead? Would either option require that I have the owner's password?
