Communication from nook/wii to mobile?
Ok so here's the deal, I got grounded. I have a wii in my room I'm not grounded from and I can use my mom's nook. I want to talk to my boyfriend for a little while. Is there a way i can do this? And don't say Facebook, it won't work. Thanks!

The Wii has a web-browser.

Try going to -
http://m.facebook.com/

Like wise try
http://m.twitter.com
(twitter can text him, if he's signed up with twitter)

Also try a web-based version of MSN like
http://www.ebuddy.com/
or
http://www.msn2go.com/
and there are others if you go on google.

And of course, there's email
(you can email his cell phone number, and it comes up as a text)

A few more things.

Go to you boyfriend's mobile phone company, often you can send text's from there over the website.

I'm not certain what browser support you have with the Nook, but I know the Wii's internet browser support has seriously declined as that aged.

On the Wii, you can access Facebook & Twitter via their mobile sites ( http://m.twitter.com -- TIP: changing "www" to "m" or "mobile" will take you to that server's mobile site, which has lower requirements, which is geared for mobile phones & older browsers).

If you utilize IM networks, check out one of the following web-based services:

* https://imo.im/
* http://www.trillian.im/chat/
* http://www.ebuddy.com/
* https://plus.im/
* http://www.nimbuzz.com/en/get/voip-and-chat-on-webchat/

All of these are completely web-based (no download required to use) & some may have apps available for the Nook (assuming it's the tablet & not a plain e-Reader).

Alternative, if you have a Google account... why not sign up for Google Voice? You get your own "universal number" (a permanent phone number for you) that you can link your other phones to & free calls from it to anywhere in the US (standard long distance rates apply if using with a phone)... & reasonable international rates elsewhere.

One perk with Google Voice is that you can send text (SMS) messages directly from it to other cells (within the US) for FREE as well. You can keep in touch with your friends from the comfort of your browser.

Hope this helps!
