First, go download Malware Bytes Ant-Malware (MBAM) and save and install it. If you can't install it, then restart your PC in "safe mode" (at startup press F8 FAST alot of times and it'll ask you if you want to start it in safe mode, safe mode with networking etc. Choose regular safe mode) and install it there. Then, start it up and run a whole scan of your pc. MBAM should remove it. It worked for me since i've gotten rogue-antiviruses like 20 times lol.

1. Reboot into safe mode with networking

2 .Open Internet Explorer, choose Tools menu and select Internet Options.

3. Click on the Connections tab and then on the LAN Settings button. Uncheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN under the Proxy Server section and press OK.

4. Then start task manager or process explorer http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-wireshark-antivirus

5. Start MSConfig and disable all startup entries that launch processes from within your user directory, for example App Data folder... You might need to reboot after this step, to safe mode with networking again.

6. Download good anti-malware tool like spyware doctor or malwarebytes. Scan with it, and delete stuff it finds (if it wont remove it itself).

7. Reboot.

The Wireshark anti virus is anything but, it is just a virus and a scam rolled into one. It is known as malware (malicious software) by professionals for this reason. The program it installs looks legitimate and professional, but this is a disguise. It will do a pretend scan of your PC for any viruses then produce a report, saying you need to purchase the full software.

Whilst this virus is very annoying, it is also extremely dangerous. It makes use of temporary files to track your internet browsing and it can therefore steal sensitive data, such as your Facebook details.

To remove this virus you are going to need an "anti-malware" program. This will search your PC for all the files and other associated links to the virus and eradicate it from your PC.

You may want to check out this tutorial on how to remove the virus:
