how do you stop notifications on facebook from games?

i keep getting notifications from people who play farmville etc and its really annoying how do i stop it from happening?

Usually in your newsfeed you will find alos a close button next to the post (at least when you bring mouse on it). If you press it then it will ask you to block notifications from this application only or from this friend whos real feed it is. You can of course always enable them using settings.

Block the application, then you won't get them.
