I downloaded a file from this website called Ppt Boox. It was a PowerPoint type of thing when it opened.

Do I have a virus from that website?? How do I know I got a virus??
I have a MacBook Pro. Can I still get a virus from downloading a file from the internet? I didn't give my password or anything, I just opened a file.

Possibly? Are you noticing any problems with it? Check this site out: http://www.why-not.com/virus/powerpoint.htm

There aren't any known Mac viruses out in the wild, so you're probably safe in that regard. Did you give the site any personal information, such as your email address? If so, that would be a bad thing. They have whatever information you gave to them.

Throw whatever you downloaded or installed into the trash and then empty the trash. If you just downloaded a file and didn't drag anything to the applications folder or run an installer, then you don't have to worry about anything. Just throw the file away and empty the trash.

If you're looking for a free actual Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote) in a "light" version you can use it at the Microsoft SkyDrive site:

If you have a Facebook account you can use Microsoft Office for free here:
