Is it weird to ask a girl's sister who I like for her phone number on facebook?

Okay so there's this girl who I have a crush on. me and her are very good friends, but we haven't kept in contact that much since our graduation (2010). We stay in touch on facebook, and texting. I don't have her phone number anymore because I accidentely deleted my contacts and she deleted her facebook. It's been years since we talked. the last time I saw her was last janaury. Anyways, I have her sister as a friend on facebook.(we met before as the girl I like introduces me to her sister) and was wondering if it be weird to message her and ask if I can have her sister (the girl I like) for her phone number. The reason I asked was not only because I enjoy talking to her, but I recently going to be transferring to a university from my community college this fall.. the same university she's been going to since high school graduation. So I was thinking of messaging her sister on fb to get her phone number so she can help me out with the university Im going to. that way, I will be prepared when I transfer and be able to see and talk to her more often. (one of the reasons why I can't wait to go to that university).

I was gonna message her sister and say

"Hi, (sister's name) how are you doing? I don't mean to bother, but I was wondering if you have your sister's (the girl I like's name) phone number because I'm transferring to (university's name) this fall and need some guidance since she has experience going there. Would really appreciate it. Thank you. "

idk how that sounds, but I'm just trying to be content, not depressed. Any ways to make the message sound better? would appreciate it guys!
Just a reminder, we're really good friends and she always considered me her special friend. haha
I saw her last week at the university when she was checking parking tickets and I waved at her and she waved me back,. I wish I could of talk to her and ask for her number to keep in touch, but she was really busy and I didn't want to loose focus while she's on the clock.
