Do you think Artists appreciate militaristic fans?

I was on twitter, and apparently Perez Hilton insulted One Direction and it was trending. (honestly, it was a pretty subtle remark if you ask me) a lot of directions are getting way to upset about it, saying that his career is over, he's a homosexual waste of space, and countless other names, (I'm not on Perez Hiltons side, I just don't think any of this is really neccesary) and this has happened before when Drake Bell insulted Justin Bieber, a lot of Beliebers took it out of porpotion as well. I don't think the artists appreciate this kind of behavior from fans. I think it scares away some other geniune fans who don't wan't to be associated with these types of fans but may like the music the artists creates. what do you think?

anyone who gets that butthurt over celebrities and people they dont even know, needs to get a life.

and i think they appreciate them to a certain extent. not the crazy ones though
