Can you get a virus from just myspace?
Hey, i was wondering if you can get a virus from myspace without clicking any ads, bulletains, or those spam comments (like the one that says "see who is looking at your page") so i was wondering if you can get a virus from just going on myspace, not clicking anything, just replying to friends and posting pictures and stuff. I was also wondering if you can get a virus from going on someones page...

If you could get a virus in the way you suggest then millions of people all over the world would have a virus. I don't think so.
I've been on MySpace over three years and run several pages - Music profiles and personal profiles

Nope.
Myspace is safe. 3rd party apps are not.

You cant get a virus from going to someone else's page. Be carefule of phishing though, ( site that mimicks another )

Sometimes a fake login page will come up, i you know your logged in then someone is trying to jack ur info.

rnyspace.com got a lot of people, look R M rm. you get it just be careful.

No you can't. You have to worry about more than ads and spam comments though. Sometimes there's a thing that says to click to watch some video, and that will give you a virus. Like you said: Don't click on anything in anyone's profile.

I also recommend installing Site Advisor at http://www.siteadvisor.com. It will pop up a red balloon any time you go to a web site that has malicious downloads. It will also put red, yellow, and green icons next to your Google and Yahoo search results.

oh yeah u can, thats the thing about viruses their so easy to catch. u could have gotten it from the flashing ads next to ur myspace page. Like the change ur pant size in 1 month. just as long as u have a good spyware u should be okay. It catches viruses like that. Try AVG its awesome..i had the same problem and had to have someone put it into my computer.

Yeah you have to be careful what links you open up to because you can inadvertently let viruses into your computer. Watch out for spamming which leads into Trojans that open the way for more deadly viruses. This is also happening on other social networking sites like Facebook and Xanga.

w/out clicking anything.....chances are very low, but not impossible. You sure will get adware, spyware even w/out clicking on anything. Make sure you have anti-spyware anti-virus software to scan you computer regularly.
