What is bootcamp and would the sims work on a mac?

I'm saving up for a Mac because I really like them and I really want the Sims 3, would the Sims 3 work on the Mac well?
Also I have the Sims 2 and about 5 expansion packs for it and I also have every The Sims 1 game. I also have rollercoaster tycoon.

If I had the macbook pro 13 inch would they all work? I've heard of something called bootcamp and that games usually work if you install that onto a Mac, Could someone please explain what that is and what it does exactly?

Try and make it as simple as possible for me to understand please because I'm not very good at the computer lingo lol.
