How to remove spyware/adware/etc from my computer?
The symptom is random new windows appearing as I use firefox. One of the pages that will open is a google jobs ad, another is a victorias secret ad and another is a facebook zoosk ad.

I've tried using spybot search and destroy and it has not fixed the problem.

Another symptom possibly unrelated is a hotebar.com opening up in a separate tab upon firefox starting. If anyone has any tips on what I can do that would be great. Thanks.

I'd try using Ad-Aware program. You can download it from http://www.download.com

Also to further secure your computer I STRONGLY suggest going to this site:

Print out, bookmark it. Hope I helped.
Was VERY HELPFUL for me.
