My friend is starving herself and making herself throw up?
My friend is really suffering with self confidence issues. She used to self harm but she stopped (or she told me that she did) and then went through a time where she hardly ate at all but she got really sick so she began to diet in a safer way. She has depression and used to be suicidal I'm really concerned about her so I found out her private twitter and I read through her tweets, I know it's an invasion of privacy but I'm so worried about her.

She just tweeted asking how to make herself throw up and I don't know what to do because I know it could turn into an eating disorder if I don't do anything and I should tell someone but her mum is a cow and yelled at her when she found out that she had been starving herself and its summer holidays in Australia so I can't tell a teacher but I really want to help her.

Please help!!,
Sorry if this didn't make sense but I'm in a rush
Who should I talk to to get her help?
@saagi, actually no, to be diagnosed with bulimia you have to be making yourself throw up for atleast three months. If you're going to be smart with me at least do it right.

It sounds like your friend has an eating disorder. The best thing to do is go to the counselor yourself and let them know. They will probably talk to her about it and let her parents know so they can bring her into therapy. This is very unhealthy and can severely damage her stomach, heart, kidneys, and other internal organs. I suggest immediate action before it gets worse. Eating disorders take over your mind and soon you just want to die so you let it take you. Don't let it take her. Get help soon, please.

I'm not sure what country your from so I have given a few different websites about support for anorexia. You need to let teachers and support people help your friend as they can get her the help she needs which may be hospitalisation if bad enough. Her family should be supportive of this as well
What you can do is be a friend and support your friend through out this time as it may take a long time for your friend to recover from this. You can show her what healthy eating looks like and how with good eating you can do lots of things. Tell her that she may damage her body now and it may mean she wont be able to have children in the future and it may permanently damage her body.

There's nothing worse than feeling like there's nothing you can do, especially when someone you care about is hurting themselves. Try talking to her and asking if everything is going well with her if she says yes and avoids your question, let her know that you are always there for her and if she ever needs help with anything you can be that person. If she tells you things are bad tell her you and her can look into help. There are counsellors and people that will help out there. Its not a bad thing to admit you need help. She may find it's the best thing she's done.

Just listen to her when she speaks and let her know you understand how she's feeling and that things will be all right.

Hope this helpsSmile
