I want to jailbreak my iphone 3gs running 5.1 Will i loose all my installed apps like games, facebook, messengers, contacts, photos etc...

ur lucky, the only device that has a 5.1 untethered jailbreak is the 3gs. and no you wont, it just installs cydia, and a bunch of stuff behind the scenes. You can use cydia to get whatever you want, i recommend searching youtube for cool stuff
