Right down to the work place, school children, small business owners? Teachers suspended for silly remarks, school children suspended and declared terrorists for bubble guns, powerful politicians telling big banks not to service or invest in gun manufacturers and the EPA being encouraged to declare lead used in bullets a hazardous substance, Chick Fil A being discouraged from opening more restaurants based on religious beliefs, people being fired for what they say after hours on Facebook. The left declaring there is a war on women, minorities, gays?

I'm 65 years old. McCarthyism is the last time I saw this kind of impediment on our freedoms but at least we were in the Cold War then. What is the excuse now? What good are the laws that protect our individual rights if you disagree with a standing administration and are punished by the inability to earn a living just like the actors were during McCarthyism?

One thing about McCarthyism was that there was a single figurehead behind it. All those things you spoke of were individual idiocies, not a specific policy of the Obama administration. And you will never understand that Chik Filet got hit not because they were religious but because they were supporting anti-gay marriage groups, which the customers were supporting by their purchases. I don't imagine you have a problem with conservatives boycotting J C Penney because of Ellen DeGeneres, or any of the dozens of other boycotts they have operating still today. You still believe that only your side is being persecuted.

Speaking of the work place, who was it that passed the law in South Carolina making it legal to deny a job to or fire someone for being gay? Was that the Obama administration? Or the Arizona law that allowed the police to ask for proof of citizenship from Hispanics, a request that would never be made to whites? Or the fact that even though the Supreme Court has ruled that abortion is legal, there have been more underhanded attacks and attempts to get around the ruling over the last four years?

Open your eyes!

Ever think conservatives are a national security threat the same way a communist postal worker was in 1956? I don't see McCarthyism today, but if you do then it's called justice.

Not enough room to comment .. so I will be brief:

At the most basic level, the Liberal is non-religious. He is an intellectually dishonest, unprincipled, mentally immature, spoiled child who is forever in search of a world without moral consequence.

That is why the Liberal makes "The State" his god. The Liberal worships THE STATE. The Liberal attempts to use his god (government) to eliminate all moral consequences for immoral behavior.

In the name of "Justice," the Liberal also pretends to make his god (The State) "level" all peoples so that the wise or the beautiful or the genius will have no advantage over the unwise, the ugly and the simpleton in the marketplace. The Liberal calls this tyrannical State of Government, UTOPIA.

Liberals are never satisfied with the current level of power they have gained over the lives of individuals. They are compelled, internally driven to control every thought and detail of human activity and they will never stop until they have condemned the entire world to live in a hellish slave camp, under the heel of a socialist bureaucratic boot otherwise known as One World Government.

McCarthyism was the practice of making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence. Today, those things are just distractions to divert your attention from the real problems that are taking this country down. The low information voter never takes note of the difference.

I hesitate to even use the pejorative "McCarthyism".
Do you realize that McCarthy was vindicated with the release of the Verona intercepts and documents obtained after the fall of the USSR? Even the term "McCarthyism" was revealed to be the product of the KGB. How sad it is that most schools still vilify him and ignore this information which has been available for many years now.

To address your question, yes Conservatives are being systematically marginalized in an effort to shape public opinion and rally it against the very concepts upon which our nation was founded, just as McCarthy was. Concepts which not only elevated our nation to the most prosperous and powerful in history but raised the standard of living of the entire to a level never before seen are being portrayed as backward, ignorant or extreme. Perhaps we need another McCarthy.

Edit:
Failing to point out the fallacy of "McCarthyism" or even using it yourself to attack others only validates and perpetuates the message it represents. It's message, one that implies that any effort to point out the pervasive and destructive influence Marxist ideology is inflicting upon our society is a witch hunt and that those who dare to point it out should be marginalized through ridicule and summarily dismissed, must not be encouraged by anyone who values the foundation upon which our society is based.

No, not at all. What's happening is that the demographics of the general population in the United States are changing. As they get more diverse, they slowly will start to move away from the right, because they know that the right wing represents the interests of elites and aristocrats, rather than diverse populations of working people. Soon, people will start to move away from the Democrats as well. There is no need to worry about this, though. These rapid changes in history are an inevitable result of the rapid development of the productive forces that have occurred over the past 200 years.

The U.S government is not following this trend at all. Instead, they continue to represent financial oligarchs and imperialists, while allowing states with small populations to control the legislative bodies of the states. "Conservatives" still have quite a grip on the political process. This is because the ruling class is required to maintain a conservative ideology to continue to super-structurally keep their privileged position in society.

What you listed above is all stuff that has been going on for decades, and has absolutely nothing to do with conservatives. I'm sure many of Chick Fil-A's consumers were people who had no problem with gays....being discouraged from opening more restaurants is all part of business. Everything else you listed seem like highly exaggerated situations. I don't think you have any clue about what is actually going on. Compared to what happened to communists, right wingers are getting a break. They are allowed positions in the government, press, media, and other things that communists never got to have (and never will under a capitalist system). Considering that you are 65 years old, I shouldn't have to tell you all of this. Nevertheless, it seems like you have forgotten many important aspects of history.

You attempt to paint right wingers as the main victims of the capitalist system, when in reality the working class is the main victim of exploitation and domination for profit by a handful of property owning parasites. If right wingers are a victim of anything, they are a victim of the capitalist system. Not only that, but they are also a victim of their own arrogance and hardheadedness. They fail to recognize who the real enemy is. They mistake the exploitation of the capitalist class, as well as economic crisis, for political illusions that are aimed at demonizing the poor and holding back their own self-interests.
