How should I start talking to this guy on twitter?

So I go on twitter quite a bit and this one guy that goes to another high school in my city followed me. He looked pretty cute so I followed him back. Well I really love baseball and so I will tweet about it sometimes and then I saw him tweet "need to start talking to oomf. She's cute and knows baseball. #perfect #iwish" he would also favorite and retweet a lot of my stuff too. So then I tweeted "when you aren't sure whether a subtweet was targeted to you or not.." And then he favorited it. So obviously it was about me. Then like the next day I had said something about not getting enough sleep and then he replied back to me and "said story of my life. My sleeping schedule is horrible" and then I replied back and then he favorited that. Well I really want to start like texting him because he seems like a good guy and he plays baseball which is a plus! how should I go about starting to talk to him? Or should I wait for him to do it first? Btw I'm 16 and a sophomore in hs and he's a junior. And I'm a little shy.. Please help!
