Can anyone help solve my computer troubles?

My computer was acting strange last night -- popups were coming up any time I had Google Chrome open, even if the only open tab was Facebook, so I scanned my computer for viruses and shut it down. I just turned it on again and all my settings are gone, my documents, pictures and music folders are empty (though there are duplicate folders with my stuff in them), and my computer won't open Google Chrome. What's going on?

Run another virus scan if you have bought sometime of antivirus software. If not, download AVG FREE and SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY and run two full scans to ensure everything has gone.
