How to start friendships with people we know through the web?

Often times we make friends and become acquainted with many people through social networking media. We never met face to face, but always in email and online chat. How can we recognize closer with the friends we know it?

this has to be the most dangerous method i could conceive of, young girls have been lured by dirty old men with the internet as the tool and this is of a great worry to a lot of parents.
with a name like yours who in hell am i typing to the devil.
i don't know what i do know is this is a cesspool the internet and not to be trusted with a precious daughter or son to a nobody.

net friends are cool.. i got lots of them.... most i will never meet...
some i have met.... and the ones who speak close to the truth are ok
really keep friendships light.. and dont expect too much.. some people will lie... somtimes about stuff that will embarrass them later... like the type of car they got etc...
but some. are just genuine people looking for friendships in this gloomy world..
its not all peedo's and rapist's... there are some cool peeps about...
gone are the days of computer geeks hiding their ugly ass faces behind a screen... its now posible to google people and check them out if your going into a sensible friendship
