How do you send a message to somebody on Twitter?

I'm new to Twitter, how do you send somebody a message on it?

go on there profile and under there picture on the right side the shout be a button click on it the pick send message

Go to your Twitter home page, and click on "direct messages", then it'll take you to a page where it says "Send a direct message to" and then there's a drop down menu. Click the arrow and choose who you want to send it to.
