Friendship with someone with autism and physical deformity?

So I met this girl at my birthday party that's a friend of my twin's who, as stated in the question, is autistic with a physical deformity but she can talk and think like a normal person that I am aware of. I was just wondering if it is appropriate to contact her via Facebook and trying to have a real friendship with this girl because something about her just makes me want to be there for her all the time.
