You do it through window's manage drive feature, just google it. However, be careful, as messing up can result in wiping your hard drive...

It's very simple: Delete your system32 folder (it may try to stop you, but that is only because they don't people to mess it up) and restart your computer. Once it turns back on, a prompt will pop up asking you how many and how large of a partition you want to make.

You need to use disk management to shrink a partition to have space to create another partition

Hi Akshay,

My name is Gautam and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.

Please follow the steps below to create partition using disk management in win 7.

1) Click on the start button.
2) Click on 'control panel'
3) Select 'administrative tools'
4) Select 'Computer Management'
5) Locate and select 'Disk Management'

Right Click on the C: which is located under Disk 0, and then select shrink volume. Follow the steps to shrink the volume to make space for a new partition. After that, you will have unallocated data under Disk 0. Now right click on this unallocated data, and select 'Create a simple volume'. Follow the steps to make a new partition.

Please reply in case you have any further questions.

Regards
Gautam_H

You can use windows built-in disk management to shrink your C drive and then create new partition with the unallocated space. You can also use free third party software to split your c drive into two or more. http://www.disk-partition.com/help/split-partition.html

There are only two ways for creating partition.
1. At the time of installing windows or formatting complete hard drive.
2. Using external software.
I hope you must be knowing the first step, I would like to name one software I use for partition is partition magic which I personally feel is the best software in its field.
