Can you offer advice about marketing my clothing line?
I plan to launch a casual clothing line soon. This is a new area for me and welcome any advice you can offer. I will begin small by offering a tee shirt line aimed at a particular target market and hope to brand my line into a lifestyle eventually, expanding into a social website, offering clothing lines for all age groups and economic levels, but back to the beginning, tee shirts with my logo and company catch phrase. I await your words of wisdom. Thank you in advance for any useful advice.

I'm not sure where you are, but Peter Alexander sleepware comes to mind. When he was 23, he decided to start making womens sleepware for women in their 20's. He had no expereince in fashion, but he pitched the range to a few retailers and one took him up. (after others laughed at him.) Then his order was cancelled, and he had to get rid of a lot of stock quickly. He took his last $10,000. placed an ad for phone orders in a cosmo style magazine, and sold out. Peter Alexander sleepware is now a huge line in Australia and overseas.
Morale of the story: know your target, know where they will look, and be seen there. If you fail, get up and try again Ads |
