I think people are getting softer and the whole "bullying epidemic" is ridiculous. People gotta toughen up and move on with life. Telling a teacher isn't going to do anything for you in the long run. It's teaching you how to be even more of a victim -- don't confront your problems, have someone else deal with it. That is not how life works. What are you going to do when you're 26, your boss is a jerk, and jumps down your throat for screwing up an important assignment? Sure, you can go tattle on him to corporate, who is going to laugh at you and tell you to grow up. What are you going to do then? Quit your job because everyone is so mean to you? Okay, fine. But let's add in a family to that equation. Say you've got a spouse and kids at home, and they're relying on you. What then?

Kids have gotten softer. I've been bullied...once. It wound up costing the douchebag however much it is when you go to the dentist for a chipped tooth.
