You don't directly. YA is not a chat room or Facebook. YA is for Q&A, not conversation. You have two options:

1. E-mail or IM the user through their profile, if they allow communication.

2. Wait until you pick the BA and add comments for each user. Probably only the Best Answerer will see it since they only get a notification.

The ONLY exception is that you can add additional details to your question (little pencil icon on question toolbar) for clarification of the question. Do not call users by name doing this or it will be deemed chat.

You can respond by email, but YA is NOT like a chat room or email message board. YA is knowledge exchange forum with a STRICT quest - answer format. Using additional details t5o reply to an answer is a chat violation. IF you want to have conversation with a person who answers a question , do that by email, NOT ON YA. IF some one does NOT have their email enabled, that means they probably have GOOD REASONS for DISabling their email to and from other YA community members.

o enable your email to and from other YA community members:

1 Click your avatar to open up your YA profile/activity
2 Click the “Edit my preferences” hyperlink”
3 Click the Privacy & communications” tab when it is underlined top open up the tab page
4 Click the center of the button to the left of “Via email” until it turns green / gray
5 Click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the tab page

To email another YA community member:
1 Click their avatar
2 Clicking the “Email” [user name] will open up an email page
3 Click the “Submit button at the of email page to send the email

Replying
Basically you should only use the Yahoo Email system when enabled and you can contact others who have theirs.
You can leave a message when you select a Best Answer to your questions
You will get 3 points back for picking one
