Could my daughter be fired for taking pictures at work?

She recently started working at a Pre-K and some of the kids are so adorable that she has been taking their pictures (fully clothed) and showing her friends on Facebook so they can see some of the kids she works with. She doesn't have bad intentions but I'm afraid that since she doesn't have the parents' permission she could get fired for violating their kids privacy, and she disagrees, saying that it's only for her friends on Facebook to see.

Yes, its possible. I have seen stories like that everywhere. If your daughter really wants to show her friends the students then she should be sending them pictures over texts, not online for the whole world to see. Parents complain about everything nowadays. Better for your child to be safe than sorry.
Tell her to stop taking the pictures. Delete the ones on facebook. The school may see it as a violation and could fire her.

She most definitely could get fired. All it would take is just one parent complaining to her boss and that would likely be the end of her employment.

She should have permission both from the parents involved and from her boss before she posts these photos on a public site such as FB (even if her settings are only for her friends to see them).

If she identified any of the kids and tagged them with their full names, that's bad. If your daughter's Facebook privacy settings are set so that people (even just her 'friends') can see her location -- that's bad. If I were her, I wouldn't have done this. Do you have any idea how many creeps and pedophiles there are prowling the internet LOOKING for pictures like those? It's really easy for people she had no intention of sharing with can download those images and use them for who the hell knows what. Imagine some child molester with one of those pictures driving up to the school where she works and looking for one of them. Tell her to take them down.

Anything posted to the web can be available to nearly anyone. If her friends reply or "like" the photos, all their friends can see them too. Posting recognizable photos without parental consent violates the family's privacy.

Can she get fired? Certainly if her actions violate any workplace policy.

Yes, it's possible that she can be fired. She is posting pictures without the permission of the kids' parents and if word gets out the parents can call the school and then your daughter could get into serious trouble which could include termination. Actually, she can be fired for that reason or any reason--even no reason at all.
