If America dies China will be the next superpower. How is this possible?
O*no racism is intended in this question and I do not with to start a flame war*
China's economy is the strongest next to America. How is this so and how does this economy thing work?

I don't even think they are a developed country, their infrastructure is bad(looks like buildings from 50 years ago), their poverty rate is high, there are still many villages and people who live in the mountains that has never seen the city, super high corruption rate and many more. Basically they look nothing like a developed country if you go for a walk down the street. The country as a whole/most of China) is dirty like they don't have a road sweeper and their citizens doesn't give a f**k.
The only thing I see they have is a sh*t load of fuel and manpower. Their currency is lowTheir tourism rate is low.
Can someone explain to me how this economy thing works?

Right now china is where we were 100+ years ago in the "Guilded Age" Their industry is booming, but their society has yet to adapt different ways to solve the problems that come with industry boom. Because the industry is big and the population is big, the economy is big. The boom still hasn't reached everyone and benifited everyone yet.

It's because American industrialists and CEOs sent so many jobs to China to generate cheap, inferior products with built-in obsolescence, and encouraged USA citizens to buy these Chinese products over-and-over-again at retailers such as Wal-Mart, putting all the "mom & pop shops" out of business in many areas. Personally, I pay a little extra to get the few things left that will last and serve my needs very well for 10-20+ years, instead of a piece of junk that I have to REPLACE in short order, because it breaks and can't be easily repaired or it is no longer "the latest got-to-have-one craze".

Basically, the citizens of the USA have slit their own throats by following illogical instructions telling them to "swallow razor blades".

You can thank the politicians, CEOs, Bankers, Lawyers, and Medical/Insurance/Advertising Industries for your woes. They all sold you out.

I won't even get into a discussion about how elderly people are taxed right out of the homes they cared for so well over the past 50 years... Property Tax based on "market value" is a crock! And then, you get taxed again on the sale when you can't afford to stay in the home you paid off long ago and are forced to sell it!

It's bad enough that people in the USA might have to learn to live with less, but why does the government make it impossible to KEEP the things they worked hard to OWN?

And... they wonder why people can't afford medical insurance anymore, while doctors pay higher and higher "malpractice insurance", so that they must raise their fees, and the consumer pays higher and higher premiums... HA! Lawyers, politicians, and thieves... all of them. In the end, you can blame it all on greed, theirs, and that of the American Public who swallowed the razor blades fed to them...

"Don't forget to buy some weedkiller to take care of those (ultimately edible) dandelions that make your yard look so "disgusting" in comparison to your neighbor's. You must LOOK better! It's part of our Community Association's Rules."

Darned right, China is going to win this economic battle. Their leaders have so many people to expend that they don't have to give a sh*t about ANY individuals, and most of the Chinese people aren't yet so entrenched in "looking good" just to satify their vanity; they simply want to SURVIVE!

Reminder: The USA didn't win WW2 by looking pretty...
Do the common Americans of today really think that the Japs committed suicide, just because our soldiers stepped out of a new BMW wearing designer clothing and carrying an iPhone?
Does wearing a new pair of Nikes or flaunting a genuine LV handbag make an American invulnerable to a bullet?

How can a country 'die'? it may declined but not died-finished as animals or human. Yes if America declined to become much much weaker nation, then definately China will be the most powerful country in the world-a super power. A superpower does not have to be highly developed country, the economy of the old Soviet Union was not strong as China's now.

China made its fortunes since the 70s by opening up the Chinese market to trade and investment, which drew in corporations that wanted to use cheap labour to reduce production cost, therefore increasing profit without having to inflate the price.

Also, while China's industry and economy improved, more jobs were created, on average families earned more, and could afford more commodities - they now have a capitalist society almost exactly the same as America, in that an individual's status is based on his material possessions. This created a huge internal demand in China for their own products, as well as foreign imported goods, which is stimulating growth.

Capitalist countries grow by having their citizens buy more, to keep a healthy demand for industries, and China is fast becoming one of the world's largest consumerist states.

It is an astonishing feat, considering they've only been at it for 40 odd years, literally transforming the nation within 2 generations. However, this created what you saw - a society yet to adapt to such a level of wealth, which caused housing inflation, class division, corruption, outdated laws and check systems to deal with a modernised society with modern problems etc.

They are developing, that's for sure, but given time, they will stabilise and come to an equilibrium, and I wouldn't call it fair if you judge a developing country by the standards of a developed nation.

Considering how their central government pulled through the global recession with hardly any scratch, and even managed continued, steady growth when the entire developed world nearly collapsed, I'd say their government, however bad a reputation (much fuelled by biased western media), is doing a nice job.

If you continue to see China as a backward country, they'll simply overtake you sooner. Napoleon once referred China as a "sleeping dragon". If you studied history you'd know China was a superpower, on several occasions, during the Middle Ages, they're simply coming back to claim what they already had.

I think that you need to spend some time in China. Your opinion of China is very outdated, and highly influenced by western propaganda.

China differs from the USA in many ways. But does that really matter?

What is best, and what the actual core of your questions is this; can China provide for the best needs of it's people, while interacting on a productive way with other nations throughout the globe? And, when this ultimately occurs, how will the USA compete against such an organized and unified powerhouse?

Personally, I strongly believe that the answer is YES. Further, I also will state that I do not believe that the USA can compete. Not at all.

The USA has grown soft, weak, complaisant. they are no longer the nation of rugged individualist who would fight for their freedoms, and who would work hard and long to accomplish long term goals.

This is not the American of this decade. Currently, the USA is a social state, governed by popular opinion that is swayed by power brokers of the mighty media. Americans are weak, disarmed sheep that religiously follow the dictates of the government. They claim to work hard, but they live sheltered and isolated lives. With only a large ego, and a 100 year old history of past successes that adds buoyancy to their collective egos.

In comparison, the Chinese are rugged collective groups of struggling people who have been hardened by the turmoil of 4000 years of strife. They have suffered and are just now, step by step, crawling out from the weight of foreign oppression. They are not stopping for Sh**t.

Chinese students wake up at 6 am. Go to school from 8am to 9pm. Then study until 12 pm. EVERY DAY. How in the world can someone compare this kind of work ethic, and discipline against that of what is prevalent in the USA. You simply cannot. The argument that the Chinese just copy and no longer contribute to innovation is a false illusion. Look at the iPhone, and the iPad. 100% designed and developed and manufactured in China.

The USA is crumbling before your eyes. How in the world can anyone still actually believe that the USA is strong, just because they spend so much money on the military? How?
