facebook notification bar?

usual facebook account has its notification icon on the left side like mine. my friend's fb notification icon is on the right side and it does look like this

any idea how to do it?
he was actually using my pc and the browser that I am currently using, there was no plug-in or anything that interferes the fb. he told me that he doesn't have an idea how it happened but all pc that he was using, it show like it.

i am unable to view this image you are trying to show actually according to your description it seem like your friend is using some browser plug ins to get notification which usually shows in right side

1. This might be due to your browser mate. Try opening his facebook on different browser. As I can see, currently you're using Chrome. Try Internet Explorer, or Firefox. If on other browsers his facebook becomes normal, then the problem is with your add ons. Uninstall the add on which is creating this problem. Or else, uninstall chrome itself, and reinstall fresh.

2. If the problem persists, then your friend has installed some facebook apps from his account. You need to go to facebook's app center. (Left side of facebook, see the pic, did you find? In the pic, it is written '9' in front of app center...)

Simply uninstall the facebook app which is causing the problem, and you're good to go
