There are many ways to advertise your product in the Internet for free. You don't have to spend a lot for AdWords.

The first option is eBay selling. You can sell directly through eBay where registration is for free.

However, it helps a lot if you have your own homepage where you can talk exclusively about the CD you are selling. You don't have to spend a cent to create a website. You can even use free blogging sites such as Wordpress or Blogger to serve as your homepage. Include product description, payment options, shipping policies, and your contact information in your homepage.

The next thing that you need to do is to identify your target market. To whom are you selling your CD? Who are most likely to need and buy your CD?

Once you have identified your target market, you can promote your product in websites where your target market is most likely to hang out.

If you are selling the CD to teenagers, then you can start joining social networks like MySpace to promote your product. Always include the link to your main webpage.

You may also penetrate online forums where a specific group of people usually hangs out. Say, if you are selling the CD to stay-at-home moms, there are many online forums out there where moms gather online to share tips and ideas to everyone. Sign up for these forums, attach a signature that contains a link to your website, and start commenting on forum posts.

If you love to write, then you can start writing articles that talk about your product. Submit these articles in directories such as ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com. The key is always to put your homepage links on these articles so that more Internet users will be redirected to your homepage and learn more about your product.

Submit your Business details in Yellow Pages or Business directory. I think these are not very costly but all these are very effective.

Make a web site or blog selling your CD. Drive traffic to it using a variety of methods. Here are some ways to get free or low cost traffic:

1. Write articles about the topic. Post your articles to artice directories like ezinearticles.com. Have a link to your web site or blog in the resource box at the end of the article.

2. Join forums with topics related to your CD. Participate. Have a link to your web site in your signature.

3. Join joint venture giveaways. This is a great way to build an email list which you can then market to. Search for "joint venture giveaways" or jv giveaways." There are always new ones ongoing.

4. Make a Squidoo Lens about your topic. Link it to your sales site. Use good content.

5. Keyword optimize your sales site to attract natural search engine traffic

6. Use social bookmarking sites and social networking sites like Stumpled upon, facebook, digg, etc.

7. Join the Warrior Forum and network with other internet marketers. They can offer feedback, suggestions, help, etc.

8. Search for niche directories to list your site.

9. Link to your site in your email signature.

10. Make several smaller blogs that are keyword optimised. Link them to your main sales page or blog.

11. If your CD is available by download, join affilaite programs like Clickbank or Paydotcom and locate affiliates.

12. Create a free product which you give away and encourage other people to give away also. Have an add to your sales page in the product. The free product must contain valuable content so people will be willing to pass it around.

You should resort to affiliate programs. More information can be found on webmasters forums, e.g http://www.cashglutton.com where people with the same interests could give you hints.

How to market a CD without Adwords = Joint Venture partners or JV partners. You'll have to first, have a good product that others are willing to promote. 2nd, have an affiliate program setup so your affiliates can promote it. 3rd, go find affiliates through search, forums etc. and ask for JV's.
