I know no one ever admits to it, but even apps on Facebook like Speedate and Are you Interested? have a huge number of members. Sites like Match.com and EHarmony are multi-million dollar ventures as well. Do you think alot of people meet over the net and when things work out in real life they lie about it? Why is it such a popular dating tool?

I have met some good decent men off the internet when I was on yahoo personals. I dont like yahoo personals or any other dating website for that matter. My tatste in men hav changed now have I prefer hispanic and asian men and thats hard to find, espcially where I live. Its just mostly white and black guys where I live. Eharmony is a crock of sh*t, they just make really good ads so people will buy into theri bull sh*t and spend their hard earned money.

I for one met my soul-mate through myspace almost 2 yrs ago, he was in Iraq, I had been out of a BAD relationship for a while and was just curious about the whole thing, I was NOT looking for love. But we started talking via email about 10 a day, and on the phone maybe 3 times, before he came back to the states. He drove 4 hours to where I lived on his 4th day back and it was love at first sight, I thought it was crazy and can still hardly believe it. We moved in together within 2 weeks and have been inseparable since. We have had our problems, like any relationship, but without myspace it would have never happened. I have also since met a handful of people that have met their significant others in similar ways.

I didn't, but I had a friend who dated someone they first met on Facebook. They decided their first date there too.

Then he turned out to really suck and they broke up.

But hey, it's all luck, right?
