How do you meet people when you move to a new city?

I'm graduating from college this year and there's a good chance I could start a job in a new city where I don't know anyone at all. How do you meet people in a new city? It's not like college where everyone's new at first and then you have classes and stuff where you meet people. How do I make friends that are my age?

First off, do not run into a random building and announce your name. Seriously, I would try to look for people around your neighborhood and job. Or, I'd look for a social media sight or a local place where people hang out, like a pub.
