How can I change the avatar above your name?

You know, that cute little character. I signed into Yahoo! Mail but I can't find anything to edit it. If you have to have Facebook or TinyPic or Flickr (I don't even know what Flickr is) then I can't do it because I don't have any of those social network junk. So, what I am trying to ask is can you just give me a procedure to change my avatar? Thanks!
Oh! I don't have Twitter either.

At this time you can not make a avatar from a mobile device, perhaps that will change in the future.
For now profile changes must be made from a computer.
Go here , http://profile.yahoo.com top center put the arrow on your avatar, click change picture.
From there you can upload a image from your computer or import a picture from facebook. When finished click submit on the next page.
