How do you delete a facebook account?

I have got annoyed with facebook and want to delete my account. How do I delete it and will it keep my email on facebook??

I have done this in the past. First, delete all content on your wall... photos, links, game apps... all of it. Then go to your account page and find the deactivate button.

There is a grace period in case you decide to return to that account, but you will still lose everything you deleted. After that grace period, all will be gone, including your email addys.

Why not you start a new one by completely delete the existing account.. Please review the source file to make decision.

Just kidding. Go to Account - Account Settings and then in the footer area, press "Deactivate".
