I keep up with the trends, and tweet reguarly, and follow all the celebrities and stuff, but I haven't got more than 35 followers :\ And I bet half of them are scammers or whatever.

So, how do I get more followers?

I know my friend, before he became a twitter junkie, posted a ton of funny s**t on Facebook and those posts were known to almost everyone. In his bio, he wrote his twitter account, and soon enough he got a lot of Facebook friends and friends of friends following him. Don't expect over a hundred though with this method.

This website is pretty lame and you do mostly get buisnesses following you from it, but you do get some nice people following you on there
you just connect with your twitter!, follow people and to earn seeds, then as you earn seed you are noticed so more people follow you, i got about 100 in a minute.
It gives you a little popualirty boosts and gives you a chance to put a decent tweet out there to get RTed fast!

Also try to interact with other users. Another great method of getting more followers is by following a lot of people yourself in the hope they might follow back. But this is time consuming and you will get stuck following a lot of people.
