is facebook really giving out viruses?

I heard from friends, and a radio that facebook is starting to give out viruses. My friend's friend computer broke down, and her's is kinda much slower than before. Is this just a coincidence?Or is facebook giving out viruses????? HELP!

No facebook is not giving out viruses. Just by being connected to the internet, people can get tracking cookies and other harmful types of viruses/spyware onto your computer that can effect the speed and even steal private information. As long as you have a decent antivirus and antispyware program on your computer, then these threats shouldnt be a problem as they are automatically deleted for you. I use norton 360 and i dont have any problem.
