Is it possible humanity can be the center of social media in the future?

Is it possible that we as humanity (if and when we do meet 'aliens') will become the star base of social media and news, seeing how our technology in this is exceeding everyday and as a species we all love it? Is it possible that in the future we could be broadcasting shows all across the cosmos, news channels, pop culture , singing , fashion ect?

Answer fully please! I need it for one of my classes!

All things are possible and its also possible that some other planet will beat us to it and we will have a battle of the airwaves and pretty much start a war as we always do- It would be quite good fun having so many extra terrestrial channels
