how can i save my apps on my ipod touch?

I am going to be sending my ipod touch in to be fixed. It says to save everything to your computer as they will not sync it to the new ipod they give you. I have saved my music and videos to my computer, but how do you save the apps such as facebook app and many other i have bought on itunes? I dont want to lsoe those when i send it it to be fixed. How do i save them to my computer?

they are probably already saved and they might show up when you sync your new ipod but am not sure hope i helped
