Facebook and God posts?
I'm an Athiest and I'm sick of these posts about God on Facebook. The latest post was that people are mad because Pepsi put out a can with the pledge on it and left out the phrase "under god". At the bottom of this post it read: "if you love God click like". Are you serious. You god lovers really are gonna start shit all because they didn't say "under god" on a Pepsi can? It's like they are trying to push god in people's faces through social media now. There was another post about the pledge of allegiance saying that America is falling apart because we don't say the pledge in public schools anymore? Do you really think America's falling apart because we don't make little kids say a stupid pledge? I thought America was smarter than this, I guess not.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

You know, you don't have to read Facebook, participate in Facebook, have a Facebook account, nor do you have to post in the religious section here.

Honestly the "under god" was inserted into the pledge to indoctrinate children against the evil atheistic communist.

I'm just as sick of posts by people trying to push an anti-God message onto all their facebook friends. Why would I want to log into my account to check on my friend's new baby pictures, only to see a message pop up by an otherwise good friend that ridicules something that defines my very life? It is hardly polite or sensitive, regardless which side of each issue you embrace. I just took to hiding people from my newsfeed who post almost exclusively religious or political messages or rants, regardless which opinion they hold. That is not the appropriate forum for such things, and it only leads to increasingly confrontational and insensitive people who lose the respect of their friends while hiding behind a computer screen.

pretty sad, isn't it? I saw one yesterday that was a picture of a dying child from the Biafra famine with the slogan underneath " God did this because atheists don't believe in him, click like if you agree". I reported it as hate literature

So...what's the question? Is this about Facebook, Pepsi, or America?

Facebook -- Don't go on facebook if you don't want to read other people's opinions.

Pepsi -- Don't give a crap either way.

America -- Obviously 'America' isn't being stupid, individual Americans are being stupid. You are being so carried away by your emotional rant on this topic, that you cannot differentiate these two unrelated concepts in your writing.

The original pledge:

"I pledge allegiance to my flag and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

1923 version:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

1952, "under God" added because of the second red scare:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

Christians that make a big deal about this don't know there history and obviously don't love their country. They rather live in a theocracy like most middle eastern nations. But that doesn't mean only atheist don't like this. I am polytheist and I hate it when Christians rub their faith in my face.
