Maxtor One Touch Plus 4 with Mac, light blinking and unrecognized. HELP!?

I've been using the One Touch Plus with my Mac for editing with Final Cut, and to my dismay tripped the cord. Now when I plug it back in it does not show up, and the light just keeps blinking. I've been looking through forums trying to figure out how to fix it, but none are helpful and these drives seem to be an absolute nightmare. I have my life on that stupid drive can anyone tell me how to fix this?
