How much would it cost to text USA from UK?

Juuust wondering, cause my aunt lives in USA and i wanna know how much it would cost to text her? And also, do I need to do anything before I send it or will it just go, cause American numbers are different to ours right?

'm part of the Vodafone Web Relations team and would like to offer some help and advice.

If you are in the UK sending a text message to an international number, you will have to enter the dialling code for the country the mobile belongs to. For America the dialling code is +1, so you would need to put this in before the rest of the number.

It costs 20p per message for you to send a text to an American number from the UK on Orange, you're unlimited text package wouldn't be used as this is only for UK numbers.
