Technically yes. You would have to choose which one to boot to though and they could interfere. It is really better to just have a single os and windows is better in my opinion.

Yes, look up the Ubi installer, I think it's called. Or you could install using a flash drive or live CD. It's all well document on the Ubuntu forums but it's really simple.
Look up dual booting with linux, or Ubuntu.

grats on looking into Opensource Operating Systems such as Ubuntu/Linux.

Yes, it's very simple to set up.

Assuming you have Windows already installed:

Decide how much space you wish to allot to Ubuntu, free up that much space using Window's Volume Management tool, and when running Ubuntu's installer direct it to that partition.

Visit http://www.ubuntu.com to download an iso file ,then burn it to a disc and install it on your computer ..You can install it along with your existing Operating System mostly Microsoft Windows ..When you will start the computer the first time it will ask you an option to start ubuntu or Windows

I liked ubuntu but again moved back to windows because it doesn't have a good music manager like itunes .A good optimization tool like advanced system care. The games and apps that you run on windows dont run efficienty on them. You need software named WINE to run it which often crashes. Skype is not as good as that is on windows.I use skype for facebook chat.I dont know whether ubuntu really doesn't catches virus as they say but it doesn't have any security antivirus programs like avast
The plus points of Ubuntu are
Good high end Video editor like cinelerra and music creation softwares
If you want a fully running audio, video, and image production all in one in your pc try a version of ubuntu named "artistx"
