Don't ask other people to give you money. The point of charitable contributions is to make a sacrifice for something you believe in.

You have two routes that allow you to make the contribution yourself:

1. Work at home or in your neighborhood, using the proceeds to donate. Shovel snow; cut lawns; wash windows, paint a room or the whole house, dog-sit.

2. Go to the shelter and volunteer your time

Don't ask them to give you money. Just ask them to donate to the shelter.

You can start helping feed animals at a shelter today with a free click. You can click daily! http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/click...s?siteId=3 This site also hosts grants. Two of the shelters where I volunteer have won grants sponsored by this site. The grants are issued by voting from site visitors. Keep an eye out for grant contest to vote for your favorite.

Here are many ways to help animals:

Animal Shelter Fundraising Event 101
Creating a fundraising event for an animal shelter is one of the easiest fundraisers to hold. Check the website of your local animal shelter for its fundraising guidelines. With the shelter, choose a date for the event. Instead of asking for money as a donation, ask everyone you know-family and friends-to donate one item from the shelter's "wish" or needs list. Even in economically hard times people can usually squeeze an item into their budget. Items typically include: paper towels, bleach, hand sanitizer, wet food, dry food, cat litter, clean rags, toilet paper, copy paper and other office supplies. Every little bit helps so even 1 roll of paper towel is appreciated. Ask the donors to either bring the items to you before the event's date or to the shelter on the day of the event. Be at the shelter to collect items on the date. The shelter may be able to give tax receipts based on its tax status to the donor. If this is important to you, make sure of the shelter's tax exempt status before agreeing to the fundraising event. Take a few pictures to share with your donors so they can enjoy the success of the event is a way of thanking them and encouraging them to donate in the future. That's part of what these fundraisers are for is to create an introduction for the agency so people will be more likely to help in the future. Plus, pictures can be added to your own volunteer portfolio. Ask the shelter for a letter of confirmation for your event. You may need this for a school or job reference in the future. Send thank you notes or emails to all donors. You don't have to list the item donated, but just say, Thank you for your much needed donation to the XXX Shelter. I appreciate your participation in making this event a success! Include a link to the shelter's website. The shelter may send out a thank you confirmation to them, too, but it's nice to have one from you. Remember fundraising is about building relationships. Relationships to the charity, yes, but building trust and appreciation in your abilities and you will help get your causes supported when you ask. Your reputation can help the charity.

Good luck to you and your cause!

Volunteer your time, just as valuable. Ewhoring won't accomplish much.
