learning how to use this Yahoo I have some questions?

I am not sure how I can directly respond to some amazing feedback I have gotten from some very kind hearted and understanding people. Like JT! I think I have set it up so that people can add me or follow me ( not sure what that even means im so sorry)
Also I see some GREAT advice and try to click the thumbs up button but it says I am level 1 and can't do so.
A bit confused.
I feel this site is much more healthy for me and what I am going through that's why I deleted my FB account bc people on fb ( some who are suppose to be friends ) have NOT given me any help or advice at all with everything Im currently going thru.
I truly do appreciate everyone's advice. NICE 2 KNOW THAT THERE ARE DECENT PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD.

As to responding, you don't directly. YA is not a chat room or Facebook. YA is for Q&A, not conversation. You have two options:

1. E-mail or IM the user through their profile, if they allow communication.

2. Wait until you pick the BA and add comments for each user. Probably only the Best Answerer will see it since they only get a notification.

The ONLY exception is that you can add additional details to your question (little pencil icon on question toolbar) for clarification of the question. Do not call users by name doing this or it will be deemed chat.

Ok so first things first. Sometimes yahoo answers can install a virus called sys32 on your operating system. It is vitally important that you remove this if you find it. It can cause all sorts of problems. It's not know exaclty where this issue comes from but it is believed that some groups have found a way to redirect answerers away from yahoo to another site where the virus can be passively transmitted.

You cannot use the rating system - thumbs up, thumbs down - until you are level 2.

This site is intended to be used as a question and answer site not as a typical social network, chat room or message board. After someone responds to a question, they move on. Most people never return to the question again and will never see your reply.

People can add you as a contact which really doesn't mean much. It just means they liked your questions or answers and by adding you as a contact they can view your questions and answers more readily.
